Uji Aktivitas Antibakteri Ekstrak Teripang Kasur Kuning (Stichopus Ocellatus) Terhadap Bakteri Bacillus Cereus Dan Escherichia Coli
ABSTRACT
This study aimed to find out the antibacterial activity of sea cucumber extract
against Bacillus cereus and Escherichia coli bacteria and to know the secondary
metabolite compounds found in Stichopus ocellatus. This research was conducted
through several stages, namely sea cucumbers extracted using maceration method
with ethanol solvents with different weight and solvent comparisons namely 1:1,
1:3, and 1:5. Then the thick extract of S. ocellatus was tested for secondary
metabolite compounds and antibacterial test using cup-plate technique with
concentrations of 125, 250, 375, and 500 μg/mL respectively, positive control is
chloramphenicol and negative control is DMSO. Secondary metabolite
compounds identified in S. ocellatus extract are alkaloids, phenolics, amd
saponins. The highest measurement inhibition zone results were solvent ratio of
1:5 (w/v) at a concentration of 500 μg/mL pf sea cucumber extract with 14,66 mm
for B. cereus and 15,45 mm for E. coli.
