Ekstrak Teripang Kasur (Stichopus Vastus Sluiter) Sebagai Antikanker
ABSTRACT
Sea cucumbers are one of the marine biota that have important economic value, seen
from several factors economically, sea cucumbers have an important value, they
come from the high content or high levels of nutrients contained in the sea
cucumber's body. Mattress sea cucumbers are one of the water resources that have not
been used optimally, mattress sea cucumbers contain very high protein and collagen
content, besides that sea cucumbers contain minerals, mucopolysaccharides,
glucosaninoglycans, omega-3, 6, and 9, amino acids, chondroitin, steroids . The
purpose of this study was to obtain bioactive compounds from extracts of sea
cucumber (Stichopus vastus S) which have the potential as an anticancer against
breast cancer cells (MCF-7) and uterine cancer cells (HeLa cells). The method used
in this study was an experiment by conducting a series of direct experiments to
determine the anticancer activity value of mattress sea cucumbers (Stichopus vastus
S) against breast cancer cells (MCF-7) and uterine cancer cells (HeLa cells). This
research procedure consists of 3 stages, namely: 1). Sample preparation. 2). extraction
3). Secondary metabolic test. 4). The anticancer activity test of bed sea cucumber
based on the concentration of the test sample was different with three replications of
the mattress sea cucumber meat (Stichopus vastus S). Extracts of bioactive
compounds of mattresses sea cucumber (Stichopus vastus S) have the potential to act
as anticancer activities, namely HeLa cells and MCF-7 cells. Based on the secondary
metabolic content, saponins and terpenoids (+) contain the potential for anticancer
activity. The value of cytotoxic activity of extracts of bioactive compounds of sea
cucumber (Stichopus vastus S) against MCF-7 IC50 cells was 17.2525 μg / mL,
whereas on IC50cells HeLa 13.5001 μg / mL. The IC50 of the mattress sea cucumber
extract is stated to inhibit cancer cell activity if the IC50 is below 30, in line with the
results of the study, the extract of sea cucumber has the potential to inhibit anticancer
activity against uterine cancer cells (HeLa) and breast cancer cells (MCF-7).
