Uji Efektivitas Ekstrak Umbi Gadung (Dioscorea Hispida Densst.) Terhadap Larva Kumbang Tanduk (Oryctes Rhinoceros L.) Hama Pada Tanaman Kelapa Sawit
ABSTRACT
Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is a leading commodity from the
plantation sector which plays an important role in Indonesia. Pest attacks on
oil palm plants are an obstacle in oil palm cultivation. Oryctes rhinoceros L. is
one of the pests of oil palm plants which can cause a decrease in production of
up to 20% - 25% in mature plants and cause death in immature plants. Control
using vegetable pesticides extracts of gadung tuber (Dioscorea hispida
Dennst.) is an alternative for controlling pest horn beetle larvae (Oryctes
rhinoceros L.). This study aims to obtain an effective concentration of gadung
tuber extract to control O. rhinoceros. The research was conducted at the Plant
Pest Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University. The study was
conducted from January 2020 to February 2020. This study used a completely
randomized design (CRD) with five treatments and four replications in order
to obtain 20 experimental units. The treatments given were the concentration
of gadung tuber extract 0 g.l-1 water, 25 g.l-1 water, 50 g.l-1 water, 75 g.l-1
water and 100 g.l-1 water. Observation parameters consist of the initial time of
death, lethal time 50, lethal concentration (LC50 and LC95), daily mortality,
total mortality, temperature and humidity. The results showed that the
concentration of 100 g.l-1 water was an effective concentration for controlling
the pest O. rhinoceros with an initial time of death of 18 hours, a lethal time of
50 at 75 hours, a total mortality of 85% at 7 days after application.
