Analisis Pengaruh Kandungan O2 Dan Ratio Mikroorganisme Terhadap Cod Reduction Di Aeration Basin #3 Dan #5 Effluent Treatment Plant Pt Rapp
ABSTRACT
Biological treatment of wastewater with suspended systems has been widely used
and worldwide for its treatment. This process is principally an aerobic process
which organic compounds are oxidized to CO2 and H2O, NH4, and new biomass
cells. To supply oxygen is done by blowing air mechanically. The most common and
widely used wastewater treatment process is the Activated Sludge Process. This
process uses an aerator to help supply oxygen to the aeration bath. The addition of
oxygen is carried out to help microorganisms break down organic substances so
that the Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) value can be achieved in accordance
with the Government Decree regarding Industrial Liquid Waste Quality Standards.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the O2 content and the ratio
of microorganisms in the Aeration Basin #3 and #5 Effluent Treatment Plant of PT
Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper. The conclusions obtained are: (1) Correlation
between COD outlet and COD reduction is inversely proportional. (2) The
relationship between the number of microorganisms and the COD outlet value in
Aeration Basin #3 and #5 PT RAPP is inversely proportional. (3) The number of
microorganisms with the COD Reduction value shows a directly proportional
relationship. (4) Mixed Liqour Suspended Solid (MLSS) analysis is a test to
determine the concentration of solids of organic solids and microorganisms.
