Pengaruh E-Leadership Dan Interaksi Sosial Terhadap Kompetensi Manajerial Kepala Sekolah SMP Di Kota Dumai
Managerial competence is one of the important things in leading
educational institutions. The progress of an educational institution depends on the
managerial competence of a leader. Principals as top managers in educational
institutions must have competent managerial competence in leading schools. In
the current era of advanced technology, E-Leadership is leadership that is often
carried out by school principals to improve the process of principal managerial
competence by paying attention to social interactions among educators and
education staff.
Based on the background, several problems can be formulated in this
study, namely: 1) Is there a significant and positive effect of E-Leadership on the
managerial competence of junior high school principals in Dumai City? 2) Is
there a significant and positive influence of social interaction on the managerial
competence of junior high school principals in Dumai City? 3) Is there a
significant and positive effect of E-Leadership and social interaction on the
managerial competence of junior high school principals in Dumai City.
The objectives of this study are 1) To determine the significant effect of ELeadership
on the managerial competence of junior high school principals in
Dumai City. 2) To determine the significant effect of social interaction on the
managerial competence of junior high school principals in Dumai City. 3) To
analyze the effect of E-Leadership and social interaction either partially or
simultaneously on the managerial competence of junior high school principals in
Dumai City.
This study uses a quantitative approach. This research was conducted at
Dumai City Junior High School with the subject being the principal. The
population of this study were 37 principals consisting of 22 principals of public
junior high schools and 15 principals of private junior high schools in Dumai
City. The sample of this study was a saturated sample, that is, the entire
population was sampled. The data collection technique was using a questionnaire
for the variables of E-leadership, social interaction, and the principal's
managerial competence. The data analysis technique used in this research is
descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis.
The results of this study indicate that there is a positive and significant
influence between the variables of E-Leadership (X1) and social interaction (X2)
on the managerial competence of the principal (Y) of SMP in Dumai City by
19.4%. The rest is influenced by other factors outside the variables studied, such
as: motivation, organizational culture, emotional, experience and personality
characteristics.

Therefore, it is hoped that the principal can improve his abilities,
especially in E-leadership, both through on-job training and through in-job
training, at least being aware of the limitations in this field so that they can learn
self-taught according to current and future needs. . In addition, the Education
Office is also expected to carry out a program to improve the managerial
competence of school principals, especially in increasing the ability of Eleadership.
Finally, the next researcher is also expected to carry out the same
study by expanding its scope and also adding other variables that have not been
studied.
