The abrasion disaster that occurred in the Meranti Islands Regency, to be precise
in the Rangsang Pesisir District, the Meranti Islands Regency, has threatened and
caused losses in the form of loss of property, places of worship and income. In
2020, the length of abrasion in Rangsang Pesisir district will reach 44.8 km.
Rangsang Pesisir district is an area located on the coast which is directly
opposite the Malacca Strait which has strong wave currents for which the
abrasion disaster that occurs must be managed in order to minimize the risks
arising from the abrasion that occurs. The research objective of Abrasion
Disaster Governance in Rangsang Peisisir District is to find out how abrasion
disaster management is and to know what are the limitations in abrasion disaster
management in Rangsang Pesisir District so that the abrasion disaster that
occurs in Rangsang Pesisir District is increasing every year. This type of research
is qualitative research using data collection methods through interviews,
observation and documentation. The result of this research is the management of
abrasion disaster in Rangsang Pesisir district has not been maximal. This is
because there are limitations in the management of abrasion in the Rangsang
Pesisir District, Meranti Islands Regency.
