Pengaruh Ph Raw Water Pada Proses Koagulasi-Flokulasi Untuk Pengelolaan Air Sungai Kampar
ABSTRACT
One of the divisions in Riau Prima Energi is a water treatment plant which aims
to process Kampar river water into clean water for the mill operation and
townsite. The processing of raw water is a coagulation-flocculation process and
uses a poly aluminum chloride (PAC) coagulant and polymer flocculant. In the
coagulation-flocculation process, the impurities contained in the raw water are
bound by the coagulant in the form of small flocks, then the small flocks unite into
larger flocks so that they are easily separated from the water. Apart from the
coagulant dose, pH is also a factor that influences water treatment. Therefore, in
this final project, a determination of the effect of raw water pH on coagulationflocculation
is carried out by adjusting the filtrate lime (CaO). Raw water before
processing has a pH of 6.0, a conductivity of 25.9 μS / cm, a turbidity of 48.7
NTU, a level, Al- 2.013 ppm, and a P.No level of 28.37 mg / L. Based on the data
obtained, the higher the varied pH, the higher the coagulant dose used. The high
dose of coagulant used resulted in a decrease in the turbidity value and an
increase in the conductivity value. After raw water is processed using the jar test
method, the optimum dose in the experiment is pH 6.0 with a dose of 18 ppm, pH
6.5 and 7.0 with a dose of 20 ppm, pH 7.5-8.5 with a dose of 28 ppm or 30 ppm.
The conductivity value for each variation of pH and dose was> 67 μS / cm,
turbidity> 1.91 NTU, pH> 6.69, Al levels-> 0.0697 ppm and P.No levels> 9.38
mg / L.
