ABSTRACT
Waste Management is a department that manages all solid waste generated in the
industrial and residential areas of the PT Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper complex. Waste
Management also plays a role in wood waste management. The generated wood waste can be in
the form of damaged wooden furniture, used packaging or packaging, broken and damaged
wooden pallets, tree branches / trunks, and other wood materials that cannot be reused. The
average amount of wood waste produced at PT RAPP is 276.19 tonnes / month. Wood waste is
collected in open areas with the aim of decomposing the wood naturally and allowing the wood
waste to be destroyed and decomposed. The grinding machine is an alternative for wood waste
management that can be applied. The feasibility analysis of implementing a grinding machine is
carried out from technical to economic analysis. The wood waste sample has an average moisture
content value of 9.06%, ash content of 3.05%, a calorific value of 4142 kcal / kg, and a total
sodium and potassium content of 3,33 mg / L, where all these parameters are within the
appropriate design range of bark. From the result of wood sample analysis, the product could be
used in Power Boiler as solid alternative fuel. In of economic feasibility evaluation, the rate of
investment (ROI) of Factory A’s machine is 78% and the payback period (PBP) is 1 year 3 months.
