Parameter Kontrol Yang Memengaruhi S-10 Dan S-18 Pada Proses Pemasakan Prahidrolisis Kraft Pulp
ABSTRACT
Products produced by PT RAPP are kraft pulp and dissolving pulp, which
distinguishes them from the product is in the cooking process. Dissolving prehydrolysis
pulp has an additional sequence in the cooking process, which is useful
for overhauling the chemical structure of wood, especially lignin and
hemicellulose, so that in the cooking and bleaching process, these chemical
components are only present in small amounts (Parekh et al., 1977). The process
of cooking chips in the digester has an effect on the solubility values of cellulose
dissolving pulp in alkaline 10 and 18% which will be produced which is marked
with the numbers S-10 and S-18. Writing this final project aims to determine what
control parameters affect the values of S-10 and S-18 in the pre-hydrolysis cooking
process kraft pulp. The control parameters observed were time and temperature in
the pre-hydrolysis process and cooking in the digester which were expressed in
numbers of P-factor and H-factor. Maintaining the H-factor and P-factor aims to
achieve the S-10 value in accordance with the company's target, namely ≤6.0%,
and S-18, which is ≤3.0%. The analysis to obtain the S-10 and S-18 values was
carried out based on the reference of the TAPPI T 235 cm-00 Alkali solubility of
pulp at 25˚C. The results of observation and discussion show that the P-factor and
H-factor are directly proportional to the S-10 value with a very strong correlation,
namely 0.8074 and 0.7425. While the P-factor is inversely proportional to the value
of S-18 with a very strong correlation, namely 0.7817. The numbers of P-factor
and H-factor are directly proportional to the length of time of the pre-hydrolysis
process and the cooking process in the digester with a very strong correlation,
namely 0.7354 and 0.8185. From the results of the observed data, it is concluded
that in the pre-hydrolysis and cooking processes in the digester with high
temperatures and a long time the resulting yield is low and decreases amount of
cooking capacity for dissolving pulp per day is less, so that the productivity is
lower. yield on fiberline 1 to produce dissolving pulp also decreases.
