Prarancangan Pabrik Benzene, Toluene Dan Xylene (Btx) Menggunakan Proses Cyclar Bp/Uop Dengan Disain Alat Utama Menara Distilasi Benzene Distiller (T-103)
ABSTRACT
Benzene, toluene, and xylene (BTX) can be produced through the catalytic
reforming process of naphtha. Indonesia's unmet demand for Benzene, toluene
and xylene (BTX) is imported from other countries. Dehydrogenation of light
paraffins to olefins is a rate limiting step. Once formed the olegomerization
reaction of the high olefins becomes the large intermediate form, which rapidly
cyclizes to the naphtha form. The reactions that occur are dehydrogenation,
oligomerization and cyclization, these reactions use an acid catalyst. The last
reaction is the dehydrogenation of naphtha into aromatics. The main raw material
used in the production of BTX is naphtha. The results of the pre-designed
economic analysis of the Benzene, Toluene, and Xylene Plants with the BP/UOP
Cyclar Process are (1) BEP (Break event Point) obtained in this plant design of
58.81%. (2) ROI (Rate of Investment) obtained in this design is 21.27%. (3) The
IRR (Interest Rate of Return) obtained in this design is 22.74%. (4) PBP (Pay
Back Period) obtained in this design is 5 years. From the data from the
calculation of the economic analysis above, it can be concluded that the Benzene,
Toluene, and Xylene plant with the BP/UOP Cyclar Process is feasible to build.
