Studi Timbulan, Komposisi Dan Karakteristik (Proxymate Analysis) Sampah Domestik Di Wilayah Pengembangan Ii Dan Iii Kota Pekanbaru
The purpose of this study was to determine the data on waste generation,
composition, chemical physics characteristics, and the potential for recycling of the
domestic waste in the Development Region II and III of Pekanbaru City based on the
level of community income (High income, Medium income, and Low income). Data
obtained from research can be used for planning and developing waste management
systems. Sampling is carried out based on SNI 19-3964-1994. The results showed that
the number of solid waste generated in the District of Development Region II was
0,26 kg/person/day or 1,99 l/person/day. Waste generation in Development Region
III Raya Sub-district is 0,25 kg /person/ day or 1,96 l/person/day. The composition of
domestic waste in Development Region II is dominated by 51,69% food waste, 5,75%
yard waste, 12,81% plastic, 9,45% paper, 6,00% textile, 1,79% rubber, 7,79% glass
and 4,05% metal. The composition of domestic waste in Development Region III is
dominated by 51,62% food waste, 5,57% yard waste, 13,92% plastic, 9,60% paper,
5,64% textile, 1,79% rubber, 7,27% glass and 4% metal. Physical characteristics of
solid waste in Development Region II are specific gravity of 0.133 kg/l and a
compaction factor of 1,38 l/hr. Chemical characteristics of waste are water content of
24,06%, volatile content of 59,1%, ash content of 6,53% and fixed carbon of 10,31%.
Physical characteristics of solid waste in Development Region III are specific gravity
of 0.126 kg/l and a compaction factor of 1,41 l/hr. Chemical characteristics of waste
are water content of 26,23%, volatile content of 58,51%, ash content of 6,20% and
fixed carbon of 9,06%. The potential for domestic last product in the Development
Region II and III for trash full of 4718,1 kg/month is obtained processed material for
composting of 2169,6 kg/month, recyclable of 1005,74 kg/month, and last residual
1542,76 kg/month.
