Penyisihan Zat Organik, Warna Dan Besi (Fe) Pada Pengolahan Air Gambut Secara Koagulasi Dan Flokulasi Dengan Menggunakan Koagulan Alami Dari Tepung Jagung (Zea Mays L.)
ABSTRACT
The peat water is high in organic substance, color and Fe. One alternative of peat
water treatments is coagulation with natural coagulant. This study aims to the
removal of organic matter, color and iron by using corn flour. Corn seeds were
prepared by drying naturally under sunshine for 1 day and sieving with a 100
mesh filter size. The study used 20 mg/L; 40 mg/L; 60 mg/L; 80 mg/L; 100 mg/L;
120 mg/L; 140 mg/L; 140 mg/L; 160 mg/L; dan 180 mg/L coagulant dosages. The
fast stirring speed used was 250 rpm for 1 minute and the slow stirring speed
were 90 rpm, 50 rpm, and 20 rpm for 15 minutes respectively. The results of this
study showed that the concentration of organic in peat water decreased to 256,6
mg/L, with the removal efficiency was 34.88% with the addition of 180 mg/L
coagulant, the color concentration decreased to 488 Pt.Co the removal efficiency
was 28.34% with the addition of 180 mg/L coagulant, and the Fe concentration
decreased to 0,6416 mg/L the removal efficiency was 61.12% with the addition of
80 mg/L coagulant.
