Eksistensi Pertambangan Emas Tanpa Izin Di Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi Tahun 2019 (Studi Ekonomi Politik)
This research aims to awaken the public and several parties involved in the
existence of unlicensed gold mining in Kuantan Singingi Regency which is based on
various laws that have been passed. The importance of honesty, assertiveness of all
parties involved in the scope of this illegal mining in a broad manner, in order to develop
and improve common welfare from the environmental, economic, trade sectors so that
there is no overlap between the disadvantaged and the beneficiary which causes an
injustice . It also aims to put aside each other's selfishness in order to jointly create
harmony, welfare, social inequality for the sake of common interests. The types of data
used are primary data and secondary data. Research on the PETI phenomenon will be
analyzed from a political economy point of view, of course, there are parties who benefit
each other. The data collection technique is done by interview and documentation. The
data analysis technique was carried out by means of a qualitative descriptive.
The results showed that PETI activities in Kuantan Singingi Regency were
caused by economic factors, lack of education in maintaining the ecosystem, sociocultural
factors, and weak law enforcement, economic and political exchanges and rentseeking.
PETI activities can be carried out on a small scale, using traditional tools, on a
large scale, using heavy equipment. PETI activities are discussed from a phenomenon of
economic exchange and political exchange which is reflected in the investment function
in the people's gold mining business which is used as a political commodity. Apart from
investment, it turns out that labor, which is a factor of production, can also be converted
into political resources. Another factor that is no less attractive to exchange is the results
of the PETI business itself, which is a profit which is used as a political cost.
