ABSTRACK
This research was conducted from November 2020 to January 2021 for 50 days at the Hatchery and Laboratory of Technical Services Unit Aquaculture of Technology, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine University of Riau. This study aims to determine the best time interval for giving probiotics given to the maintenance media of baung fish with the biofloc system and the growth rate and survival. This study used completely randomized design (CRD) of one factor consisting of five levels of treatment with three replications. The treatments applied are (1) control with a dose of 10 ml/m3 (2) once every 5 days, (3) once every 10 days, (4) once every 15 days, and (5) once every 20 days. Research results show that p1 gives the best results, namely 13.63 mL floc volume, water quality such as temperature ranges from 26-27˚C, water pH ranges from 6.4-7.1, dissolved oxygen content (DO) ranges from 6, 1 - 7.7, and ammonia ranges from 0.0011-0.0028. There are 29 types of plankton found in the flock, consisting of 12 types of phytoplankton and 17 types of zooplankton. There are 9 types of plankon eaten by the baung fish, consisting of 5 types of phytoplankton and 4 types of zooplankton. absolute weight growth of 8.45 g, absolute length growth of 5.41 cm, specific growth rate of 2.68%, FCR of 0.88%, survival of 91.67%.
