Management of traditional markets in Teluk Kuantan City, Kuantan
Singingi Regency which is managed by the Office of Cooperatives, Small and
Medium Enterprises, Trade and Industry, where it can be seen that there is still a
lack of management which can be proven by the existence of traders who sell
outside the buildings that have been provided, traders make their own stalls so that
the market traditional is not well organized. The purpose of this study was to
determine the management of traditional markets by the Office of Cooperatives,
Small and Medium Enterprises, Trade and Industry in Teluk Kauntan City,
Kuantan Singingi Regency. The method used in this research is descriptive
qualitative. The theory used in this study uses the theory proposed by Stoner in
Handoko with the process of planning, organizing, mobilizing and supervising the
efforts of organizational members and the use of other organizational resources in
order to achieve predetermined organizational goals.
The results of this study indicate that the lack of management,
organization, direction, supervision and firmness of the officers of the Office of
Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, Trade and Industry, makes this
traditional market not well organized. The obstacles encountered in the
management of traditional markets in Teluk Kuantan City, Kuantan Singingi
Regency, namely: First, internal constraints, incomplete infrastructure because it
has not been used for a long time, lack of 2019 APBD budget funds, second
external obstacles, namely lack of awareness of traders and traders who do
not want to be disciplined.
