Every year the Waterfall Village Government continues to strive to
develop the potential of village women so that they can develop and become
independent village women by creating village women's empowerment programs.
Women's Empowerment in the Waterfall Village is quite important to be held
considering that the Waterfall Village, which is predominantly an oil palm
plantation area, makes the livelihoods of many people rely on plantation products.
The situation is even more difficult when women are powerless and create a lack
of competitiveness in an effort to improve the economy of the people of Waterfall
Village.
This study aims to determine the extent of the effectiveness of women's
empowerment programs in Waterfall Village in an effort to increase women's
independence in Waterfall Village itself. The approach used in this research is a
qualitative approach with a descriptive type of research. The location of this
research was carried out in the Waterfall Village, Bandar Petalangan District,
Pelalawan Regency, with data collection techniques carried out by interviews and
documentation.
The results of this study are that the first implementation of the women's
empowerment program in the Waterfall Village has been going well but there are
still some obstacles in it, such as the embroidery empowerment program, which
cannot use all the facilities in the form of the provided embroidery machine
because it was damaged when the program was running. Second, the level of
effectiveness of the women's empowerment program in the Waterfall Village in
increasing the independence of village women is still not effective, it can be seen
from the lack of development of the empowerment program participants after
participating in these programs.
