Government synergy in accelerating the handling of Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19) is
the cooperation of a relationship and arrangement of institutions or agencies with a certain
division of tasks to produce a goal that is better and bigger than the institution or agency
that is carried out alone through a combination of communication. and coordination. The
problems in this study are the still high rate of spread of Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19)
in Pekabaru City in the field of land transportation in 2020, especially at the border, and
the lack of good communication and coordination with neighboring Regional
Governments, the lack of synergy between the City Government in the spread of Corona
Virus Disease. Covid-19).
The purpose of this study is to find out Government Synergy in handling Corona Virus
Disease (Covid-19) in the field of land transportation in 2020. And to find out what are
the inhibiting factors for Government Synergy in handling Corona Virus Disease (Covid-
19) in the field of land transportation in 2020. The research approach used is a qualitative
approach and this type of research is descriptive. The location of this research was
conducted at the Department of Transportation of Pekanbaru City, and data collection
techniques were carried out by interview and documentation.
The results of this study are that first, Government Synergy in implementing Large-Scale
Social Restrictions in the field of land transportation in order to minimize the spread of
Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19) together with the Transportation Service and Satpol PP
as well as other agencies in charge of land transportation and the synergy carried out is
sufficient. Many start from prevention and supervision, but in carrying out these synergies
there are still obstacles and shortcomings.
Second, the factors that hinder the handling of the spread of Corona Virus Disease
(Covid-19) in the field of land transportation in Pekanbaru City are internal factors and
external factors. Internal factors consist of overlapping regulations, and lack of
communication between government agencies while external factors consist of limited
budget, lack of facilities and infrastructure and lack of public awareness.
