Gambaran Kualitas Hidup Pasien Kanker Payudara: Literature Review

Breast cancer is considered as the number one deadly disease in women. Breast
cancer which is suffered by patients can affect the quality of life of breast cancer
patients. Quality of life is the perception of individuals about his life based on the
norms and values where they live. The study aimed to describe the quality of life
for breast cancer patients. The method of this research is the literature review. The
sources of the search for the published article data using Google Scholar and
Pubmed. The search of the articles used keywords on quality of life and breast
cancer patients and quality of life and breast cancer. The inclusion criteria in this
study included the international articles in English, articles published in 2016-
2020, qualitative articles. Based on the selection of the articles by using a
screening method that was suitable with the objectives of the study, 11 articles
were found. The findings of the research from the 11 articles reviewed found that
in general 8 out of 11 research articles described that breast cancer patients had a
poor quality of life, which is caused by various factors such as age, body mass
index (BMI), marital status, menopausal status, education, employment,
medication, cancer stage and self-confidence. It can be concluded that breast
cancer patients have a poor quality of life so that teamwork is needed in
overcoming the physical and psychological problems of breast cancer patients.
