Pengembangan Penuntun Praktikum IPA Berbasis Quided Inquiry Kelas VIII SMP

The Quided Inquiry-based Science Practicum Guide has the potential to
increase the motivation, activities, and learning outcomes of students because the
Science Practicum Guide involves maximally all students' abilities to search for
and investigate something systematically, critically, and logically so that students
can formulate their own findings, giving freedom in looking for, processing,
analyzing, and understanding a material in its own way. One of the facilities in
the practicum activity is a practical guide which contains guidelines for the stages
of work to guide students in practical activities so that they can work continuously
and directed.
Based on the results of observations at SMP IT Syahruddiniyah Kampar
kiri downstream in January 2019, several problems were found regarding the
implementation of science practicum, namely: 1). The school does not yet have a
practicum guide, which is currently only used in the form of platinum textbooks
(attachment 1), 2). In the implementation of the practicum in the laboratory,
students do not carry out the practical, but only demonstrate it by the teacher, 3).
The project assignments were not well organized such as in determining the time,
method of work, and assessment sheets so that they had an impact on the students'
psychomotor scores were low.
The purpose of this study was to produce a Quided inquiry-based
Science Practicum Guide for grade VIII SMP and to determine the validity and
practicality of the Quided inquiry-based Science Practicum Guide for grade VIII
SMP. This research is a Research and Development (R & D) research. Research
and Development is a systematic and deliberate research method that aims to
find, formulate, improve, develop, produce and test the effectiveness of products.
The science practical guide was developed with the Plomp model which consists
of 3 stages, namely the preliminary research phase, the development or
prototyping phase, and the assessment phase.
Based on the results of the research that has been conducted, it is
concluded that: 1) the results of validation by experts or experts have produced a
biology practicum guide based on Quided Inquiry which is valid on didactic
aspects, construction aspects and technical aspects, namely with an average score
of 4.43 on KD 3.4 and 4.46 in KD 3.5 then an average of 4,45 is obtained (very
valid) so that they can be used by teachers and students in carrying out practicum
activities. 2) The practical results obtained were very practical, namely with an
average score of KD 3.4 and KD 3.5 namely 87,9%
