Community Empowerment activities around conservation areas are one of
the efforts to develop a conservation-based community, with the main goal of
improving the empowerment of people who are still left behind or poor around the
conservation area towards independence, as well as to the level of welfare and
quality of life, which lives in harmony with the conservation area and the
surrounding nature.
Tesso Nilo National Park to implement the empowerment of support area
communities as a priority program of Tesso Nilo National Park. Implementation
of community empowerment programs in TN. Tesso Nilo has not been effective,
considering that the empowerment program has not been done systematically and
measurably. One of the villages that gets community empowerment activities
around the TN. Tesso Nilo is the Village of Lubuk Kembang Bunga Ukui District
Pelalawan. From 2017 to 2020, the village received an allocation of community
empowerment activities both from Balai TN. Tesso Nilo and its partners are Tesso
Nilo National Park Foundation.
The purpose of this research is to identify community empowerment
activities as well as to evaluate community empowerment activities both
conducted by Tesso Nilo National Park and by private parties / partners in Lubuk
Kembang Bunga Village, Ukui District Pelalawan. This study uses a qualitative
approach. In qualitative research, researchers are a key instrument. Therefore,
researchers must have a wide supply of theory and insight so that they can ask,
analyze, and construct the objects studied to be clearer.
Primary data sources are informants and community leaders in the village
of the selected research site based on the ability and knowledge of respondents to
explain the information and conditions they know. Secondary Data Sources are
literature study data, documentation, books, magazines, newspapers, written
archives related to objects to be studied in this study. A secondary source is a
source that does not directly provide data to the data collector, such as through
someone else or a document.
Based on the results of the research, that community empowerment
activities carried out in Lubuk Kembang Bunga Village, Ukui Subdistrict from
2017 to 2020 consist of activities of Ecotourism Improvement, Nurseries,
Utilization of HHBK (hasil hutan bukan kayu), and Community Involvement of
Polhut Partners (MMP). Until now, these activities are beneficial to the
community and have a positive impact on the Tesso Nilo National Park area.
