Analisis Sekuens Barkode Dna Pada Daerah Rpl16 Intron Tumbuhan Cocor Bebek
ABSTRACT
Cocor bebek is a plant of Crassulaceae family which has about 130 species around
the world with various forms and it’s believed that some species don’t yet had a
clear taxonomic status. The DNA barcoding is a technique that used short
sequences of DNA to speed up and simplify the process of identifying living
things. This study used DNA barcode rpl16 intron in two species of cocor bebek
growing in Pekanbaru to see their taxonomic status. Research methods include
DNA isolation, PCR, electrophoresis and sequencing. Data analysis used BioEdit,
BLASTn and MEGA. The results showed the length of sequence rpl16 intron
cocor bebek A (MW286363) was 943 bp and B (MW297179) was 944 bp.
Morphologically, cocor bebek A is similar to Kalanchoe pinnata, but the leaf
shape is mostly shared by other Kalanchoe and cocor bebek B is very similar to K.
x laetivirens Descoings. There is no identity value that reaches 100% for both of
samples, so the scientific name of cocor bebek A is only limited to the genus,
namely Kalanchoe sp. and cocor bebek B namely K. x laetivirens Descoings.
