Pengaruh Ketinggian Air Dan Waktu Detensi Dalam Pengolahan Air Limbah Penatu Menggunakan Metode Floating Treatment Wetland
Laundry is a business or micro business that is engaged in washing or ironing clothes. The laundry services is very helpful for people living in urban areas, especially those who do not have much time to wash clothes. Apart from having a positive impact, the rise of the laundry business actually has a bad effect on the environment. Usually the detergent wastewater resulting from laundry activities is discharged directly into the drainage or water bodies without going through any treatment process first, if this is allowed to continue it will cause water pollution problems. The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of water level and detention time in laundry wastewater treatment using the method floating treatment wetland with plants as Vetiveria zizanioides, styrofoam as floating media, and rockwoll as growing media. In addition, this study also aims to evaluate the water content of the laundry wastewater based on pH, TSS, COD parameters. The variations in water level and detention time in this study were 10 cm, 15 cm, 20 cm and 0.5,10,15 days while the surface coverage was 10%. Two ways anova without interaction was used to test the significance of the results of this study, based on the two ways anova test it can be concluded that the retention time has an influence in decreasing pH, TSS, and COD levels. The results of this study obtained the highest reduction efficiency for a TSS of 83.33% (from 1200 mg / L to 200 mg / L), COD of 62.96 % (from 1350 mg / L to 500 mg / L) and decreasing pH level from 9,4 to 7,7. This shows that the floating treatment wetland can be used to treat laundry wastewater.
Keywords: Floating treatment wetland, Vetiveria zizanioides, laundry wastewater, two way anova.
