Pengaruh Kadar Plastik Terhadap Karakteristik Aspal Modifikasi Lapis Ac-Bc (Asphalt Concrete-Binder Course)
ABSTRACT
The country of Indonesia is ranked second in the world for producing plastic
waste, so the use of plastic waste must be carried out. The use of plastic waste as
an additive in asphalt mixtures can improve the quality of asphalt concrete
pavement and also reduce plastic waste. This study aims to determine the effect of
adding plastic waste to the characteristics of modified asphalt layer AC-BC
(Asphalt Concrete-Binder Course) on Marshall which includes VMA, VIM, VFA,
stability, flow, and Marshall quotient (MQ). The research was carried out in an
experimental laboratory with the type of plastic used LLDPE: LDPE: HDPE and
PP the percentage addition of plastic content was 0%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, and 6%
by weight of asphalt. The results showed that the addition of plastic had an effect
on decreasing stability, the highest stability was the addition of 2% plastic of
1044.62 Kg, the results of testing the VMA and VIM values tended to increase
with the increase in the percentage of plastic content. The highest VMA and VIM
values were at 6% plastic percentage levels, namely 20.31% and 6.58%. The
highest VFA value was at 0% plastic content of 78.9% and the lowest VFA value
was at 3% plastic content, which was 70.8%. The flow value has met the
specifications of Bina Marga in 2018 with the highest value of 3.60 mm with a
plastic content of 2%, while the Marshall quotient (MQ) value is the highest at
0% addition of 329.6 kg/mm and the lowest value is at addition of 6% plastic with
a value of 223.52 kg/mm.
