Respon Perkecambahan Eksplan Biji Kurma (Phoenix Dactylifera L.) Cv. Khalas Terhadap Penambahan Giberelin (Ga3) Dan Benzyl Amino Purine (Bap) Secara In Vitro
ABSTRACT
Date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) are annual plants that live in tropical climates such as in the Middle East and North Africa. Expansion of traditional date palm cultivation is still available by the ability of plants to produce new seeds in large numbers, uniformly, and in a short time. The problem with dates today is the generative propagation through conventional seeds which takes a long time. Germination dates propagation can be produced quickly by the initiation of seeds in vitro. This study aims to determine the effect and determine the best concentration of single GA3 and GA3+BAP combination on the response of seeds explants (Phoenix dactylifera L.) In Vitro. The research was carried out the Integrated Laboratory, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Riau University from May-September 2020 using a Completely Randomized Design consisting of 10 (ten) treatments, namely, single GA3 (2.5; 5; 7.5 mg/l) and combined with BAP (1 mg/l and 2 mg/l). The results showed that presenting a single GA3 and with BAP had a significant effect on the emergence time of roots and long roots of date seed explant (Phoenix dactylifera L.). In 2.5 mg/l GA3 treatment, the fastest root emergence time was 5.50 days after plant. The best root length among all treatments at 5 mg/l treatment was 6.36 cm.
