Efisiensi Adsorpsi Pada Variasi Ph Lingkungan Penjerapan Ion Merkuri Oleh Arang Aktif Buah Jabon Putih (Anthocephalus Cadamba) Teraktivasi Naoh
SUMMARY
White jabon fruit (Anthocephalus cadamba) is a less than optimal utilization of biomass. White jabon fruit contains good cellulose as a base for making activated charcoal which is used as an adsorbent in the Hg2+ ion adsorption process. Therefore, this study aims to determine the optimum environmental characteristics and pH of the adsorption power of mercury ions (Hg2+). Activated charcoal jabon fruit is characterized based on SNI 06-3730-1995 which includes moisture content, ash content, power iodine adsorption, and methylene blue adsorption capacity. To determine the characteristics of activated charcoal, further analyzed using FTIR to determine functional groups and SEM to determine the surface morphology contained in activated charcoal of Jabon fruit. To determine the characteristics of the charcoal white jabon fruit, it was further analyzed using ICP-MS. The adsorbent contacted with a mercury simulation solution with concentration of 30 ppm and variation of pH 2; 4; 6; 8; 10; and 12 using NaOH and HCl 0,1 N resulted in the optimum adsorption efficiency obtained in activated charcoal from jabon fruit activation pH 6 with efficiency 99,972 %.
