Pengelolaan Pelabuhan Roro Parit Rempak Kabupaten Karimun Tahun 2019
The mode of sea transportation or ferry transportation is an important thing
in encouraging economic activity. To carry out loading and unloading or where
the ship rests, an adequate dock is needed. Parit Rempak Terminal is a port of
goods and transportation at Tanjung Balai Karimun in Meral District, which is not
only a tourist spot but also a place for cargo port activities. The trench rempak
terminal also serves crossings from Karimun to other areas, this terminal is also
expected to facilitate the loading and unloading of commodity goods in Karimun
Regency.
However, over time, the management at Roro Parit Rempak Port, Karimun
Regency, experienced various damages, such as facilities in the waiting room
which were not maintained, as well as damage to the connecting bridge for the
ship's back. The damage has occurred for a long time but there has been no
attempt to repair the port, which is why the Ministry of Transportation through the
Director General of Land Transportation plans to take over the port again.
The purpose of this study was to determine the management and inhibiting
factors of the roro parit rempak port in Karimun Regency in 2019. This study used
a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. In collecting data, the author
uses interview and documentation techniques.
The results of the author's research are that the Port of Roro Parit Rempak
is managed by the BUMD Port of Karimun Regency which is notarized as a
limited liability company under the name PT. KARYA KARIMUN MANDIRI as
port management operator. Meanwhile, the authority of the Regional Government,
namely the Karimun Regency Transportation Service, acts as the General
Supervisor. Various efforts have been made but cannot be separated from the
inhibiting factor, namely the limited budget in managing maintenance and repairs
at the port.
