ABSTRACT
The aim of the study was to determine the heavy metal content in the
gills, muscles and kidneys of O. niloticus and P. schwanenfeldiiliving in the dam.
Sampling of fish was carried out twice with an interval of one month each. The
method used in this study is a survey method by observing and taking fish
samples at the location of the Out Pond Outlet of the Koto Panjang Reservoir. The
data collected is primary and secondary data. Heavy metals were analyzed using
the AAS method. The results showed that the heavy metal content of Pb and Cd in
O. niloticus and Puntius schwanenfeldii fish obtained in tilapia were gills (0.0567-
0.0018 mg/kg), kidneys (0.0164-0.0036 mg/kg). ), muscle (0.0049-0.0036 mg/kg),
the range of gills (0.0437-0.0018 mg/kg), kidney (0.0236-0.0215 mg/kg), muscle
(0.0049-0.0036 mg/kg), 0.0257-0.0047 mg/kg). Heavy metals Pb and Cd in the
organs of both types of fish are still below the quality standard.
