Efek Pb Dan Cd Terhadap Pertumbuhan Bacillaria Sp.
Abstract
Heavy metals Pb and Cd are heavy metals that are toxic to aquatic organisms.
Bacillaria sp. is one of the diatoms that acts as the first producer in water. This
study aims to compare the effect of Pb and Cd on the growth of Bacillaria sp.
This study was carried out in March to May 2021. Toxicity of heavy metals on the
growth of Bacillaria sp. refers to the standard method of the Asean-Canada
Cooperative Program on Marine Science Phase-II (ACCPMS-II). The results
showed that the IC50-96 hours of Pb and Cd were 3.64 mgL-1 and 3.12 mgL-1.
From the IC50 data obtained, it shows that Cd is more toxic than Pb in inhibiting
the growth of Bacillaria sp. NOEC (No Observed Effect Concentration) values on
Pb were 1.8 mgL-1 and 1 mgL-1 on Cd. The LOEC (Low Observed Effect
Concentration) values for Pb were 3.2 mgL-1 and 1.8 mgL-1 for Cd. From the
IC50-96 hours, NOEC and LOEC values, it can be concluded that Pb and Cd are
toxic to the growth of Bacillaria sp.
