Automatisasi Pengisian Dan Pengosongan Crude Palm Oil (Cpo) Dalam Kontainer Menggunakan Sensor Positive Temperature Coefficient Berdasarkan Prinsip Resistansi Termal Dan Kompensasi Suhu
ABSTRACT
The development of science and technology nowadays is rapidly increasing,
especially in the field of software and hardware application systems to fulfill human
needs. Appropriate technology system is needed in daily life without exception in
the field of petroleum industry to inspect various activities, one of them is the
automation system of filling and emptying containers. In this study, Crude Palm Oil
(CPO) filling and emptying automatization technology system was created based
on the differences in medium thermal resistance (Rw) value and fluid temperature
detection in containers using single sensor positive temperature coefficient (PTC).
The automatization process is carried out by measuring the sensor's current-voltage
value when it is on the air and CPO medium, then the values are formed into an
I(V) curve. Thermal resistance values were obtained from mathematical modeling
of current-voltages I(V) curves in air and CPO mediums. The results obtained from
modeling I(V) curve involve thermal resistance and model parameters such as RT0,
B, and Tc. The model parameters obtained on each medium produced the same
value of RT0 = 97,73Ω, B = 201, and Tc = 328,04K, with Rw value on air medium
is 27,24 K/W and CPO medium is 84,73 K/W, these value will be stored in
programming history as sensor characteristic. The on/off pump automatization
system corresponds to the medium Rw value i.e. the pump will be on when the
container is empty and the sensor status is on the air medium, When the container
is full, the sensor is on the CPO medium and the pump turns off automatically. The
temperature detection is based on PTC resistance (Rptc) and medium temperature
(T) obtained through measurement of changes in PTC resistance values when
temperature changes occur in medium. The value of Rptc(T) curve substituted into
the Steinhart-Hart equation returns a constant value of A = 0,0218609227196926,
B = -0,00465032889112503 and C = 415721645544691 x 10-5, this value will be
stored in programming history as the basis for medium temperature detection.
Based on the range of Rw values produced between the air and CPO medium as
well as constants A, B, and C, it is designed to automate the filling and emptying
of containers as well as temperature detection using single PTC sensors. The
automatization system and fluid temperature detection system will be performed
simultaneously when the sensor is in an immersed state.
