Isolasi Metabolit Sekunder Dan Uji Toksisitas Ekstrak Etil Asetat Dari Daun Bakau Bruguiera Gymnorrhiza L. (Rhizophoraceae)
Bruguiera gymnorrhiza is an alternative plant that contains very high bioactive
compounds. These bioactive compounds include steroids, terpenoids, saponins,
flavonoids, alkaloids and tannins. The purpose of this study was to isolate
secondary metabolites and to determine toxicity test by BSLT (Brine Shrimp
Lethality Test) method. Leave extraction was carried out using ethanol and then
fractionated with n-hexane and ethyl acetate. The ethyl acetate fractionation
produced 41 g dark brown. Crude ethyl acetate extract was separated using liquid
vacuum chromatography and 5 fractions produced. Pale yellow crystals were
isolated from three fraction of ethyl acetate with melting poin of 262-2640C. The
crystals were characterized using UV and FTIR spectroscopy. UV spectrum of
indicated absorption at λmax 214 nm, 266 nm and 342 nm. The FTIR absorption
spectrum showed absorption peaks at (cm-1) 1176 (C-O),1339 (C-H) metil, 1606
(C=C), 1636 (C=O), dan 3117 (O-H). The result of toxicity test by BSLT (Brine
Shrimps Lethality Test) method on that crude extract was not active.
