Keanekaragaman Tumbuhan Sumber Pakan Dalam Lingkungan Domestikasi Lebah Kelulut (Tetrigona Apicalis) Menurut Polen Yang Dikumpulkan
A Stingless bee (Tetrigona apicalis) is a bee that is widely cultivated by people in
Indonesia. The most important factor in beekeeping is the availability of a source
of feed to meet the needs of bees. This research was conducted in Tanjung Sari
Village, Meranti Islands Regency, Riau Province. The purpose of this study was
to determine the diversity of bee food sources based on the pollen collected by
worker bees. The result of the survey of food source found that an average of 36
plant species was found, the plants with the highest abundance were coconut
(average 89 trees/ha) and senyampang (Euodia lunuankenda) (average 14.3
trees/ha). Observations were made of colony of 20 bee colonies for five
consecutive days in the morning, afternoon and evening. Examination of pollen in
pollen basket carried by worker bees reveals that there are 19 types of of plants.
The most dominant pollen is coconut pollen with an average presence of 97.3%,
the second most important pollen senyampang with an average presence of
46.6%, while the frequency of other types of plants average of only 0.7-12%. The
frequency of the presence of pollen from plants within a radius of 100 m on
average reaches 26% of the total 81% flowering plants around the maintenance
site.
