Analisis Neraca Massa Evaporator 4 Pada Bulan Februari 2021 Di Pt. Riau Prima Energi

ABSTRACT
The mass balance is an accurate calculation of all the materials that enter,
accumulate and leave in a certain time. In this final project, a mass balance
analysis was carried out on evaporator 4 at PT. Riau Prima Energi and measure
the performance of the evaporator. This analysis is carried out by taking
secondary data from February 01, 2021 to February 28, 2021. The benefits that
can be taken from doing this analysis are being able to find out whether the law of
conservation of mass occurs in evaporator 4 or not and can find out the
performance of evaporator 4 through the value of steam economy. The tool to be
analyzed is evaporator unit 4 with falling film lamellae type. From the results of
the mass balance analysis, the input of the evaporator is 893,402 tons/month and
the output of the evaporator is 855,736.15 tons/month. The difference in mass
balance is caused by a leak in the evaporator. The conclusion of this analysis is
that the mass balance on the evaporator unit 4 has a difference between input and
output of 37,665.85 tons/month and the performance of the evaporator unit 4 has
decreased.
