“Pengaruh Kualitas Dan Kuantitas Dilution Water Pada Nilai Soda Carry Over Di Fiberline#1 Pt. Rapp”
ABSTRACT
Pulp washing is done to separate the pulp with impurities, soda carry over is the
amount of sodium pulp carried in the pulp and then out of the rest of the washing
process. The amount of sodium that is still contained in the pulp needs to be
known because this sodium will affect the amount of bleach used in the bleaching
stage. This research was conducted based on the washing fiberline #1 process
contained in PT. Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper, this washing process consists of
denoting, washing, screening, and oxygen delignification stages. So in this case
an analysis has been carried out on the amount of carry over soda at the washing
stage. The purpose of this study was to determine how the quality and quantity of
dilution water affect the carry over soda. The procedure of this study, the
unbleach sample from post O2 in Fiberline#1 was weighed, then demineralized
water was added. Furthermore, the pH was checked, then titrated using 0.1 N
HCl to pH 4.4. Next, put the unbleach sample from post O2 into the beaker and
stir until homogeneous, the unbleach sample is titrated again using 0.1 N HCl to
pH 4.4. Then filtered using Whatman filter paper and oven until dry. The quality
of the washing water to be tested consists of pH, Na, and COD. So the data
obtained from this study shows that the type of washing water quality is smaller
hot water carrying soda 25.9 kg/Adt and condensate B larger carrying soda
38.1 kg/Adt, and the data obtained from the quantity of washing water dilution
factor 4 m3 /Adt carries a smaller soda of 19.9 kg/Adt and a dilution factor of 1
m3/Adt carries a larger soda of 27 kg/Adt. This shows that the quality and
quantity of water affect the soda carry over. The quantity of water has an effect as
shown by linear regression of 96%.
