Pengaruh Penggunaan Bola Keramik Dan Bola Besi Pada Tabung Milling Terhadap Suseptibilitas Magnetik Pasir Alam Sungai Rokan Provinsi Riau
The effect of the use of iron and ceramic balls in milling tubes on the magnetic
susceptibility of natural sand of Rokan River in Riau Province has been carried
out. The samples were taken from Rokan River and brought to the Instrumentation
and Magnetism laboratory of Riau University to be dried in the sun first, after
that the magnetic and non magnetic particles were separated using an Iron Sand
Separator (ISS) and then milled using iron and ceramic balls with time variation
of 30, 50 and 70 hours. The magnetic susceptibility of the samples was determined
based on magnetic induction and total magnetic induction of a solenoid measured
by Pasco magnetic probe PS 2162. The results showed that the magnetic
susceptibility value increases with increasing milling time and the iron ball has a
greater susceptibility compared to that using for ceramic balls. Magnetic
susceptibility values for ceramic balls are in the range (9094,336 - 16120,694) x
, and the value of magnetic susceptibility using an iron ball is (13366,046 -
22101,135) x .
