Fiber optics are the right transmission medium to monitor the movement of the
human body. One of them is knee activity. Its small size, low cost, lightweight
components, biocompatibility, high sensitivity, resistance to electromagnetic
interference, and easy to apply in sensor applications make Single Mode Fiber
(SMF) and Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) as sensing sensors that can monitor
damage to bad conditions of the human joint area. This can prevent further
damage. SMF and FBG fiber optic belts that have been designed using elastic materials
and sinosidal pattern feeding are attached to the knees of the object's feet. Then
the fiber optic tip is connected to the laser diode as input and OPM as output.
