Pengaruh Massa Dan Waktu Kontak Terhadap Proses Adsorpsi Komposit Spent Bleaching Earth (Sbe) – Spent Mushroom Substrate (Sms) Sebagai Adsorben Logam Cu2+
ABSTRACT
Heavy metal pollution is found a lot in the environment, One of the alternative
to reducing heavy metals from industrial waste by using adsorbent composite made
from Spent Bleaching Earth (SBE) and Spent Mushroom Substrate (SMS). This
study aims to determine surface area of the adsorbent, determine efficiency and
adsorption capacity, determine mass optimal, contact time optimal and determine
isoterm adsorption of the SBE-SMS composite against Cu2+ metal ion. This study
used variation mass adsorbent 1, 3, 5, 7 dan 9 (gram), and contact time adsorption
20, 40, 60, 80, 100, 120 dan 140 (minute). With using Iodine test, this composite
adsorbent have surface area 813 m2/g. This study using Atomic Absorption
Spectrometry (AAS). With adsorbent composition 25% SBE and 75% SMS,
concentration artificial solvent Cu 20 mg/L, pH 5 and stirring speed 60 rpm
obtained optimal mass 3 gram with efficiency value of 69,3%, and optimal contact
time 60 minute with efficiency value of 72,2%. The isotherm adsorption model uses
Langmuir isotherm pattern which forms a monolayer layer with R2 = 0,992.
