Pengaruh Ph, Massa Adsorben Dan Waktu Kontak Terhadap Penyisihan Logam Fe Pada Air Sumur Bor Menggunakan Adsorben Tongkol Jagung
ABSTRACT
Water is a very vital need for living things. Clean water must meet physical and
chemical quality requirements. The community in Belading Village, Sabak Auh
District, Siak Regency uses borehole water that contains high levels of iron (Fe),
so processing is necessary to reduce the metal content. One of the treatments to
remove ferrous metal (Fe) in water is by adsorption using bioadsorbent from
agricultural waste. Agricultural waste used in this research is corn cobs. The
purpose of this study was to determine the efficiency and adsorption capacity of
bioadsorbents against iron (Fe) waste using a batch system and to determine the
appropriate kinetic and isotherm models for this adsorption. The method of this
study is an experimental study using variations in pH 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7,
variations in contact time (5, 10, 15, 30, 60, 90, 120 and 150) minutes, and
variations in adsorbent mass (0,4; 0,6; 0,8; 1; 1,2; 1,4 and 1,6) grams. The
optimum conditions were obtained at pH 5, contact time 60 minutes, and
adsorbent mass of 1,2 grams with the highest efficiency and adsorption capacity
of 91,15% and 1,29 mg/g. The kinetics and isotherm models that are suitable for
adsorption using corncob adsorbents are Pseudo Second Order kinetics and
Langmuir isotherms, with regression values (R2) of 0,9995 and 0,9411
respectively.
