Hubungan Dukungan Keluarga Dengan Perilaku Pencegahan Kekambuhan Hipertensi Pada Lansia

Hypertension is a degenerative disease with abnormal limits that
many elderly people experience. Prevention of hypertension relapse in addition
with anti-hypertension drugs and the application of a healthy lifestyle.
Additionally, the elderly also need the support from their family. This research
aims to determine the relationship between family support with prevention
behavior hypertension relapse in elderly in Working Area Puskesmas Payung
Sekaki. Methods: This research used descriptive correlation design with a cross
sectional approach. The research sample of 71 respondents taken based on the
inclusion criteria by using purposive sampling. The measuring instruments in this
study used is a family support questionnaire that has been tested for validity and
reliability and prevention behavior hypertension relapse questionnaire designed by
Caroline. The analysis used univariate and bivariate using chi square test. The
result: The result of research showed that the elderly people have positive family
support (50,7%) and bad behavior in prevention of hypertension relapse (50,7%).
The result of chi square test shows that there is correlation between family support
with hypertension relapse prevention behavior in elderly p value 0,024 < 0,05.
The conclusion: It is recommended that the family can increase positive support
for the elderly with hypertension and the elderly are expected have good behavior
in healthy life and the elderly have time to check blood pressure regularly to
prevent recurrence of more severe hypertension.
