Gambaran Tingkat Kecemasan Orang Tua Yang Memiliki Anak Dengan Penyakit Kanker Selama Pandemi Covid-19
During the Covid-19 pandemic, many parents who had children with
cancer experienced anxiety due to changes in their child's care. This study aims to
identify the description of the level of anxiety of parents who have children with
cancer during the Covid-19 pandemic. Methods: This study uses a simple
descriptive type of research using consecutive sampling technique. The research
sample was 30 respondents who were taken with inclusion criteria, namely parents
who have children with cancer aged < 18 years, parents who accompany children
who have cancer in the Pediatric Hemato Oncology Poly at Arifin Achmad
Hospital, Riau Province Pekanbaru, and are willing to become research
respondents. The research instrument used in this study was the Corona Pandemic
Anxiety Scale-11 item (CPAS-11) questionnaire. The analysis used is univariate
analysis. Research Results: Of the 30 respondents, most of the respondents
experienced moderate levels of anxiety, namely 15 respondents (50%), the majority
of respondents were young adults (18-40 years) as many as 18 respondents (60%),
acting as mothers were 23 respondents ( 76.7%), 15 respondents had high school
education (50%), 16 respondents had a child with stage 2 cancer (53.3%), and 29
respondents had suffered from 0-5 years (96.7%). The majority of parents who
experience severe anxiety are having children with school age as many as 3 people
(25%), cancer stage 2 as many as 3 people (18.8%) and the length of time the child
suffers from 0-5 years as many as 5 people (17.2%). Conclusion : It can be
concluded that most parents who have children with cancer during the Covid-19
pandemic experienced moderate levels of anxiety.
