Isolasi Senyawa Metabolit Sekunder Dan Uji Hambatan -Glukosidase Ekstrak Dan Fraksi Dari Tumbuhan Peperomia Pellucida
Peperomia pellucida or sirih Cina (also called suruhan, tumpang air, sasaladahan)
is a herbal plant that has many benefits. It can be found in damp places such as on
the edge of ditches, between rocks, wall gaps, and in the yard. This plant has the
potential to produce secondary metabolites that might have antidiabetic activity.
The aim of this study was to test the activity of the ethyl acetate extract of this
plant as an antidiabetic and to analysis the ethyl acetate extract of this plant by
HPLC. Phytochemical tests in this study indicated the presence of secondary
metabolites, including flavonoids, saponins, phenolics and steroids. Determination
of secondary metabolite profiles in sirih Cina plant extracts was carried out by
HPLC analysis. Based on the chromatogram data the results showed that there
were a bulky peaks 16,0-20,9 minutes at the wavelengths of 280 nm and 320 nm.
This indicated the presence of a number of derivative compounds in the extract
that have a similar skletons. Therefore it can be assumed that the peaks is are a
flavonoid group and their derivatives. The test was carried out with α-glucosidase
enzyme inhibition method using p-nitrophenyl-α-D-glucopyranoside (p-NPG) as a
substrate and compared with acarbose as a positive control. The results of the
antidiabetic test analysis it was found that a inhibition persentage of the ethyl
acetate extract was 28.19 compared to the n-hexane extract of 0.83 and the
methanol extract of 8.25.
