Skrining antioksidan ekstrak daun benalu kopi( Loranthus ferrugineus) dengan metode DPPH
A coffee tree parasite is one of the Loranthaceae family which is distibuted in
Indonesia. This plant is widely used as a traditional medicine by various tribes. In
previous studies it was reported that several species of this genus have
antimalarial, antioxidant, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. This
study aims to determine the content of secondary metabolites and determine
antioxidants from coffee parasite extract. Phytochemical tests were carried out on
the coffee parasite plant to determine the content of the secondary metabolite
active compounds contained in the coffee parasite leaves. Isolation of the
compound was carried out by maceration method using ethyl acetate as solvent.
The antioxidant activity test was carried out using the 1,1-diphenyl-2-
picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method. Based on the results of phytochemical tests, the
metabolites contained are phenolic, saponins, steroids, and terpenoids .Based on
the antioxidant activity tests, the IC50 value was higher than >1000 μg/mL (AAI=
0,000009), ethyl acetate extract has very weak antioxidant activity IC50 348.19
g/mL (AAI = 0.23) and methanol has weak antioxidant activity IC50 176,49 μg/mL
(AAI= 0,45). Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be
concluded that the parasite coffee leaf plant has antioxidant activity.
