ABSTRACT
This study aims to analyze the condition and performance of the supply chain, as
well as to analyze the value added of cassava chips micro business in Dumai
Timur District, Dumai City. This research uses a case study approach, with the
sampling method of micro cassava chips business carried out using purposive
sampling method by selecting the cassava chips micro business Hj. Karmi from
five micro-enterprises in Dumai Timur District. Hj. Karmi is one of the pioneers
of cassava chips Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Dumai City which has
been established since 1982. The respondents used in this study were all supply
chain actors of micro-business Cassava Chips Hj. Karmi starts from farmers,
micro-enterprises, and retailers. The result of this study indicate that the condition
of the cassava chips supply chain is running well and supporting each other
between supply chain actors is analyzed using the FSCN (Food Supply Chain
Networking) approach. Supply chain performance is analyzed by calculating
marketing margin and farmer's share. The results of the analysis of the marketing
efficiency of the supply chain of cassava chips on the four existing supply
channels indicate that the most efficient supply channel is supply channel 2
because it has the lowest efficiency value of 41% and has a farmer's share value of
85%. Analysis of the added value of cassava into cassava chips in the micro
business of cassava chips is analyzed by the Hayami method resulted in an added
value of Rp. 10,833, while the ratio of the added value of cassava chips is 81%.
