Pertumbuhan Dan Produksi Tanaman Kedelai (Glycine Max (L) . Merril.) Pada Beberapa Kedalaman Muka Air Tanah
ABSTRACT
Soybean is a secondary crop that is widely consumed by the public. The
availability of water in the soil in cultivation activities greatly affects the growth
and yield of plants, thus greatly affecting the amount of soybean production. The
purpose of this study was to determine the effect of groundwater table depth on
soybean plants and to determine the best groundwater table depth for soybean
plant growth and production. This research was carried out on the land of UPT
and Plant Ecophysiology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University,
Simpang Baru Panam, Pekanbaru for three months, from July 2019 to October
2019. The soybean seeds used were the Anjasmoro variety. The study was
conducted experimentally using a non-factorial completely randomized design
(CRD) consisting of 5 treatments, and each treatment was repeated 5 times so that
25 experimental units were obtained. The treatments used were with four types of
groundwater table depth, namely 5, 10, 15, and 20 cm. The results showed that the
depth of the groundwater table affected the parameters of plant depth, number of
root nodules, percentage of effective root nodules, root nodule weight, plant dry
weight, number of pods, number of seeds per plant and seed weight per plant, but
had no significant effect on age. the plant begins to flower, the percentage of
flowers to pods and the age of harvest. Soybean planting at a depth of 20 cm from
the soil surface showed the best results for soybean growth and production.
