Respon Tanaman Pakcoy (Brassica Rapa L) Terhadap Pupuk Organik Cair
ABSTRACT
Pakcoy is a vegetable that is easy to cultivate and can increase farmers'
income and the nutritional value of the community. This plant is widely used by
the community for various dishes, so the demand is always increasing from time
to time. Pakcoy production and productivity data in Pekanbaru, including in Riau
Province are not yet officially known, but in fact, in some areas of Pekanbaru city
and in most supermarkets in Pekanbaru, many pakcoy vegetables are sold.
Therefore, continuous efforts are needed in increasing the production of pakcoy
plants. One way to increase the pakcoy production is using liquid organic fertilizer
(LOF). The results of previous studies indicate that the optimal concentration of
liquid organic fertilizer has not been found to accelerate the growth and yield of
pakcoy plants.
This study aims to obtain pakcoy plants with better production by
providing liquid organic fertilizer. The research was conducted in the
experimental garden of the Agriculture Faculty of Riau University, Pekanbaru
from February 2021 to April 2021, in the completely randomized design
experiment (CRD) with 5 replications. The treatment was the concentration of
liquid organic fertilizer (P) as follows: p0 = no LOF, p1 = 4 cc.L-1 water, p2 = 5
cc.L-1 water, and p3 = 6 cc.L-1 water. The variables observed data were analyzed
by analysis of variance and continued with Duncan's New Multiple Range test at
5% level, and the time series data was presented in the diagram. The variables
observed were: plant height, number of leaves, leaf width, leaf area, fresh weight,
and root volume.
The results showed that the LOF effected to the growth and production of
pakcoy. The pakcoy response to LOF was seen 1 week after application, and after
that the different LOF concentrations were no difference response to pakcoy
growth. The production of pakcoy was higher when fertilized with LOF with a
concentration of 6 cc.L-1 of water compared to pakcoy that were not fertilized
with LOF or fertilized with other concentrations of LOF.
Keywords: Pakcoy, liquid organic fertilizer, production.
