Analisis Konsentrasi Debu Jatuh (Dustfall) Dan Konsentrasi Silika (Si) Dalam Debu Jatuh Di Area Pabrik Pengolahan Kelapa Sawit (Studi Kasus Pt. Z Kabupaten Pelalawan)
Abstract: PT. Z is the palm oil processing mill in Pelalawan Regency that utilizes
solid waste of palm shells and fiber as boiler fuel. This process will produce
particulate emissions, one of which is dustfall which contains Silica (Si) because
more than 50% of the constituent elements of boiler are Silica. The purpose of this
research is to determine dustfall concentration and the silica concentration in
dustfall in area PT. Z in order to designing unit control. Dustfall sampling
implemented by using deposite gauge method and the calculation of dustfall
concentration is based on SNI 13-4703-1998, for the calculation of silica
concentration is based on Atomic Absorption Spectrofotometry result. The results
of this research is indicate that dustfall concentration in all areas of PT. Z had
exceeded the minimum level according to the Government Regulation No. 41 of
1999 which is 20 tons/km2/month with the amount of result is 22,99 – 25,26
ton/km2/month so that the unit control is required. The concentration of Silica at
several points had exceeded the NAB from Per.13/Men/X/2011 which is 10 mg/m3
with the amount of result is 9,75 – 11,47 mg/m3. Based on the selection analysis
and designing calculation, the result showed that selected control unit to
eliminate dustfall in PT. Z is Conventional Single Cyclone with 2,1 m as cyclone
body diameter and 74% efficiency with final concentration after the reduction is
5,98 – 6,57 tons/km2/month.
