This study aims to determine the strategy of developing a technopolitan area through
downstream oil palm and what are the factors that influence the development of a
technopolitan area through downstream oil palm in Pelalawan Regency. The
research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research method.
Data collection techniques were carried out by means of interviews, observation, and
documentation study. Data analysis was carried out in various steps, namely:
collecting data, reducing the collected data, describing the data systematically in the
form of descriptions and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of the research, it
was found that the basic development strategy had been implemented in technopolitan
areas, but the development of the downstream industry still really needed attention
because the downstream industry was less attractive and had relatively low margins,
but with the existence of STTP it was able to produce processed crude palm oil
products such as margarine. , cooking oil, soap and cosmetic tools. Various aspects
still need to be reviewed, starting from communication between the government and
the community, initiating local actions and benefits, reviewing the role of the
technopolitan and its policies so that this region functions properly and correctly
