Peranan Tengku Said Noerdin Dalam Mempertahankan Kemerdekaan Di Pelalawan (1945-1950)
Tengku Said Noerdin is one of the figures in the military who served in defending the independence of the Republic of Indonesia in Pelalawan (1945-1950). Tengku Said Noerdin was born in Pelalawan on August 10, 1921 to parents named Tengku Said Oesman and Tengku Syarifah Khatijah. Tengku Said Noerdin was the second of six children who had a role in maintaining independence in Pelalawan (1945-1950). This study aims (1) to find out the background of Tengku Said Noerdin's life, (2) to find out the role of Tengku Said Noerdin in defending independence in Pelalawan (1945-1950), (3) to find out the end of Tengku Said Noerdin's struggle in defending independence in Pelalawan. (1945-1950). In this study the author uses the qualitative method. Data were collected through interview, observation, and documentation methods. Data analysis uses 4 components of analysis, namely data preparasion, data classification, data processing, and analyzing and concluding the results. The result of this research is the role of Tengku Said Noerdin in maintaining independence in Pelalawan who was initially only a descendant of the king of the Pelalawan kingdom who aspired to become a soldier and finally became a courier of information for Indonesian independence to Pelalawaan leading him to become a People's Security Army or TKR until appointed by Hasan Basri to attend school in the IV Regiment after Tengku Said Noerdin Finished his schooling in the IV Regiment Tengku Said Noerdin was also trusted to hold the Pelalawan KPG IV company as the Sector Commander at that time. On September 1, 1977, Tengku Said Noerdin was officially granted his retirement rights. He also joined as a member of the Regional Plenary Council of the Veterans Legion of the Republic of Indonesia.
