Hubungan Antara Dukungan Emosional Yang Diberikan Ibu Dengan Praktik Toilet Training Pada Toddler

ANISA ANIDIA/ 1711113812 - Nama Orang;

Toilet training is an attempt to train children to be able to control
their bowel and bladder, where the success of toilet training practice can be
influenced by the emotional support provided by the mother. This study aims to
determine the relationship between the emotional support given by the mother and
the practice of toilet training in toddlers. Methods: This research design used a
descriptive correlation with a cross sectional approach. The sample used was 96
respondents in the working area of Payung Sekaki Health Center which were
taken based on inclusion criteria with purposive sampling technique. The
measuring instrument used is a questionnaire of emotional support and toilet
training practices that have been tested for validity and reliability. The analysis
used is bivariate analysis using chi-square test. Results: The results of the
univariate analysis showed that the majority of mothers were aged 20-35 years,
the last education was high school, does not work, parenting activities were
carried out by mothers and the majority of children were >24 months old. The
results of the Chi Square test show that there is a relationship between the
emotional support given by the mother and the success of toilet training practice
in toddlers (p value = 0.044). Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is a
relationship between the emotional support given by the mother and the practice
of toilet training in toddlers. This should be a concern for mothers to provide
positive emotional support to toddlers so that the child's toilet training can be
successful.
