ABSTRACT
This research was conducted in May 2021 at TPI Gaung in Gates Nan XX
Village, Lubuk Begalung District, Padang City. The method used in this research
is the survey method, by observing and collecting data directly regarding the
utilization of the TPI Echo facility.
In this regard, the fish auction place in TPI Gaung was studied and
investigated to determine the level of utilization of the facilities and equipment of
TPI Gaung in Gates Nan XX Village, Lubuk Begalung District, Padang City. The
facilities at the Echo TPI can be said to be simple and quite adequate, although the
pier at the Echo TPI can be said to be non-existent. because the TPI Gaung pier is
only made of piles of stones and is connected to the incoming and outgoing water,
small waves full of plastic waste wrapping fish. Thus making the ship lower
anchor as far as ± 100 m from the TPI and the catch is picked up using a transport
ship. This makes it difficult for fishermen to bring their catch to the TPI, due to
the narrow area of the TPI and ships of coal, cement and others from the taluk
bayur port.
Based on the analysis of the research results, the area of the Gaung fish
auction is 84 m2. From the results of the analysis conducted, the utilization rate of
the Echo Fish Course was 85, 71%. It can be said that the Echo Fish Auction
Place has carried out its function well, the auction process at the Echo Fish
Auction only takes place once a day, namely in the morning. From the results of
the study, the number of baskets needed was 140 units and after being analyzed
the basket utilization rate was 77.77%. the basket at the Gaung fish auction place
has been used for its function, while the shovel in Gaung TPI is optimally used
with a 100% utilization rate and the scale at Gaung TPI has 2 units with a 100%
utilization rate.
