Pelaksanaan Fungsi Pencegahan Dan Kesiapsiagaan Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (Bpbd) Kota Pekanbaru Tahun 2019-2020

This research is motivated by disasters that occurred in Pekanbaru City
such as land and forest fires, floods, and other disasters that need attention in
reducing the impact of disaster risk.
This research was conducted at the Office of the Regional Disaster
Management Agency (BPBD) Pekanbaru City. The purpose of this study is to find
out how the implementation of the functions of the field of prevention and
preparedness in reducing the risk of disasters in Pekanbaru City. Data collection
techniques were carried out by interviews and documentation. The method used in
this research is descriptive qualitative.
Based on the results of the research that the author did, the disasters that
had occurred in Pekanbaru City such as land fires, floods, tornadoes became a
big question mark about the implementation of the prevention and preparedness
functions of the Pekanbaru City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD)
in 2019-2020. What is carried out by the Regional Disaster Management Agency
(BPBD) of Pekanbaru City, such as monitoring or monitoring is not optimal and
there is no overall map of disaster-prone areas, then the facilities and
infrastructure to support performance are not optimal and the stakeholders in
coordination are not yet optimal from the community, government agencies and
from the private sector in supporting disaster risk reduction in Pekanbaru City.
